Become a RISEgallery fellow
RISEgallery since its inception in October 2014 has made a significant contribution to the Croydon’s vitality and health and uplifting its community. RISEgallery plays a vital role in making the borough a more exciting and inclusive place to visit and spend time in for all.
You now have a chance to work with us to deliver more than ever before as we expand into the future.
We have always been a grassroots organisation whose community is at the very heart of all we do.
Since we started this artistic vision we have worked with a wide cross section of our community from our street homeless community, individuals with multiple learning difficulties to our local schools, as well as bringing you some of the world’s leading artists to your doorstep. Our vision has always been making art truly ‘inclusive to all and exclusive to none’.
This has been entirely funded so far by ourselves along with amazing support from the artistic community at large and many others who have kindly helped us along the way from all sectors of our community.
But our ambitions are much greater and we can do so much more.
The number of requests we receive for assistance is far greater than we ever could have imagined. From schools to community groups we are constantly inundated with requests for help.
We only have a finite amount of resources we can allocate each year to all these worthy causes and we want to help many more who get in touch. We want Croydon to be recognised as one of Europe’s leading destinations for spectacular public art in its centre, its districts and its wonderful public parks. Public art supported by, chosen by and delivered by its own people.
With the fellowship you now have a chance make this a reality. It’s up to you – the greater in numbers we grow as a fellowship the greater things we can all achieve together. As a fellow it’s up to you to decide where we allocate the fellowship’s resources.
Whether your personal aspirations lean towards seeing the presence of monumental public sculptures throughout the borough, interactive light installations, street art or dedicated visual arts programmes for local schools, as a fellowship you decide where those resources are allocated. RISEgallery is purely a vessel that delivers the fellowship’s aims.
As well as building a unique legacy for the borough and helping a broad cross section of your community there are many other wonderful and generous benefits you will receive as a fellow.
We hope you will join us on this special journey and be the unity in community.

What will fellowship money be spent on?
We already engage with many sectors of our community from street homeless, learning disabilities, the elderly, minority groups as well as schools in the area. Fellowship will allow us to expand these activities more, delivering much in terms of art intervention. We will expand and initiate schools programme and drive our activities to the next level. By providing more workshops and long term programmes, from murals for schools to graffiti grannies, the growth of our community outreach programme is only limited by the fellowship funds we receive.
We want to further our public realm offering by commissioning numerous permanent public art installations around Croydon. From sculpture, light installations and site-specific installations all around our borough from parks to high streets.
Fellowship will allow us to do this and as a fellow you will be part of the process of commissioning by deciding where these installations go and what they will be.
