Chinagirl Tile

International Street Artist Chinagirl Tile works primarily with ceramics, often exploring sociopolitical themes through her pieces. In 2010 she began her Tiles project. This included several series of relief tiles installed in cities as well as places far away from any sign of civilization, thus elevating Chinagirl Tile from the classical understanding of Street Art. The artist has displayed works in cities from London to Tokyo as well as the remote jungles of New Zealand and Columbia, the icy mountains of Ireland, the marshlands of the Scottish Highlands, and on the sandy beaches of Croatia.

Since 2012 she has been working on unique large-scale pieces, strongly influenced by the places they are installed. The first large-scale work “The Lady” was installed 2012 in London as part of the Global Walls Project by Global Street Art. Since that time Chinagirl Tile has been invited to display her work across Europe and Asia. In Autumn 2014 she took place in the Calle Libre Street Art Festival in Vienna with her artwork “Security is in the eye of the beholder”. On the International Women’s Day 2015 she took part in Femme Fierce – the world’s largest all female street art and graffiti festival. Chinagirl Tile was also chosen to take part at IBUG where she worked together with Loomit and Guido Zimmermann on a large scale Mural ‘Hipster Trap’.

Chinagirl Tile has exhibited in Brick Lane Gallery, London, Gallery U5undvierzig, Vienna, we <3 8Bit in Vienna and Berlin, the Museum of Contemporary Art in Zagreb, Croatia, and with Street Art Limited in Switzerland. One of her works ("Bullet Bill" in cooperation with bXb) is part of the permanent collection of the Computerspielemuseum in Berlin.
