English artist Jamie Hewlett is best known for his work as a comic book artist and illustrator, having co-created the comic strip ‘Tank Girl’, and the visual anti-band ‘Gorillaz’. Ex-Blur frontman Damon Albarn produced the music while Hewitt designed the characters. For this he won the Design Museum’s ‘Designer of the Year’ award in 2006. Hewlett has also worked extensively in fine art, most notably exhibiting in London’s Saatchi Gallery in 2015. Hewlett however would be first to deny the distinction between fine art and comic book art.
